Fabrication and Welding
Cuts, folds, machines and welds the steel and aluminium sections that become chassis rails, subframes, trailer frames, body frames and brackets. The shop runs plasma and laser cutting, guillotines, press brakes, jigs and fixtures, and gas metal arc, gas tungsten arc and manual metal arc welding bays.
What the team is accountable for
- Cut and prepare materials to the cut list and drawing
- Set up and use jigs and fixtures for repeat assemblies
- Weld to the qualified procedure and the drawing symbols
- Inspect welds visually and present them for quality inspection
- Control hot work, fume extraction and gas cylinder safety

Renata is a qualified boilermaker and welding supervisor who has run the fabrication shop for six years and oversees welder qualification testing.
Jai Prasad
Jai leads the trailer frame welding bay, mentors apprentices and has been a welder at Nexus for nine years.

Tracks every body, trailer and bus build from planned release through fabrication, assembly, fit-out, paint and final inspection to delivery.
Non-Conformance Register
Records every product, material or process non-conformance found at stage gates, in the field or at supplier receival, with disposition and corrective action status.
Safety Incident and Hazard Register
The register of injuries, near misses, hazards, chemical exposures and property damage across the three sites, with investigation status and actions.
